THE CUP

This dry processed Brazilian coffee has a caramelized sugar sweetness which comes across as toffee. Nutty notes remind me of almond extract or marzipan. It has a long. smooth finish of chocolate.

About The Producer

Fazenda Vila Boa, a 1320-hectare farm located in Minas Gerais, is one of the first local farms that have successfully achieved carbon neutrality.

The farm‘s initiative to become carbon neutral was based on a study of the impact of coffee farming on climate change, and the farm reached this goal by implementing initiatives such as plant spacing, coffee planting, and planting native forests. This not only made the farm carbon neutral, but it also increased its output.

Growing Coffee In Brazil

Both Arabica and Robusta varieties are grown in the country, but Arabica is the dominant variety, with a growing share of around 80%. The dry process, also known as the unwashed or natural process, is the most commonly used method in Brazil, making for about 90% of the Arabica produced
