Chocolatey & Syrupy Single Origin Medium Roast

The Cup

This Single Origin Medium Roast from Guatemala delivers a well structured, classic Huehuetenango profile in the cup. It opens with cherry zing, followed by flowing notes of maple syrup that give the coffee a syrupy, coating mouthfeel. As the cup cools, warm graham cracker melds with dark chocolate, adding balance and nostalgia. Altogether, this coffee feels expressive and smooth, with just enough bite to keep every sip engaging. We love this for single origin espresso.

About the Producer

Unión Cantinil sits at the heart of its municipality in Huehuetenango, Guatemala, sourcing coffee from farms within a tight 15km radius. This focused approach preserves consistency while showcasing the region’s exceptional terroir.

Because the mountains largely face north, sunlight reaches the coffee plots more slowly. As a result, cherries ripen gradually, developing deeper sweetness and complexity. Although some Catimor is planted in the area, most farms grow traditional varietals such as Bourbon, Caturra, and Pache, all of which contribute to the clean, syrupy, high-quality cup this region is known for.

Coffee Origins

Guatemala

Guatemala is one of Central America’s most respected coffee origins, known for its dramatic elevations and diverse microclimates. In particular, Huehuetenango stands out for its high altitude, cool nights, and slow cherry maturation, which together produce coffees with bright fruit character, deep sweetness, and refined balance.

Roast Level

Medium Roast

This Medium Roast balances sweetness, body, and clarity. The roast develops enough depth to enhance syrupy richness while preserving the coffee’s natural fruit character and clean structure.

Flavour Note

Fruity & Syrupy Coffee

Fruity & Syrupy Coffee offers juicy black cherry sweetness layered with maple syrup richness and a soft graham cracker finish. The cup feels smooth, comforting, and indulgent, with a lingering sweetness that makes it easy to return for another sip.
