The Cup
This Medium-Light Roast Single Origin Peaberry coffee features smaller, rounder beans—a natural mutation that delivers a more concentrated and expressive cup. Initially, the flavor opens bright and lively with sweet-tart blackberry. Then, gentle natural sweetness develops, leading into a rich, port-wine-like body. Finally, a subtle cocoa finish adds warmth and balance, creating a fruit-forward yet refined cup with a smooth, lingering finish that truly shines at a medium-light roast.
About the Producer
This Medium-Light Roast Single Origin comes from a network of smallholder farmers in the southern highlands surrounding Songea, Tanzania. Farmers carefully hand-pick ripe cherries and deliver them daily to local washing stations. There, teams sort, grade, and dry the coffee, ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality in every cup.
Since most small farmers lack on-site processing facilities, the coffees are processed collectively at centralized washing stations. Consequently, these lots are combined into a regional blend that reflects Songea’s shared terroir and craftsmanship. In addition, this collaborative approach highlights regional character while supporting sustainable livelihoods, making this coffee a proud addition to our Single Origin series.
Coffee Origins
Tanzania
Tanzania is one of Africa’s most respected coffee origins, celebrated for its dramatic landscapes and exceptional specialty coffee. From the sweeping Serengeti plains to the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, the country’s diverse geography provides ideal growing conditions for Medium-Light Roast Single Origin coffees.
Moreover, since the early 1900s, Tanzania has prioritized environmental preservation, with nearly one-third of the country protected as national parks or conservation areas. As a result, coffees grown in these pristine regions often showcase bright acidity, layered complexity, and elegant balance.
Arabica coffee dominates Tanzania’s production, primarily grown on Kilimanjaro’s slopes and across the southern highlands of Mbeya and Ruvuma. Additionally, farmers traditionally intercrop coffee with banana trees, providing natural shade and improving soil health. Together, these sustainable practices produce clean, vibrant coffees with citrus brightness, floral aromatics, and a refined finish—perfectly suited to a medium-light roast profile.
Brewing Recipes
Espresso
Espresso forces hot water under high pressure through finely ground coffee, creating a concentrated, full-bodied shot topped with golden crema. Therefore, this method highlights clarity, sweetness, and texture, making it an excellent way to enjoy the vibrant character of a Medium-Light Roast Single Origin.

Roast Level
Medium-Light Roast Coffee

Consequently, the cup features gentle brightness, subtle sweetness, and a smooth body, allowing both vibrant fruit flavors and rich chocolate tones to shine. Whether brewed as espresso, pour-over, or in milk-based drinks, this roast delivers a refined, well-rounded, and satisfying experience.
Flavour Note
Fruity & Chocolaty Coffee
Fruity & Chocolaty Coffee balances bright, juicy fruit notes with smooth cocoa sweetness. Moreover, lively acidity adds freshness, while rich chocolate tones provide a rounded, satisfying finish that feels both vibrant and comforting—making it a perfect expression of this Medium-Light Roast Single Origin.
