This microlot coffee hails from the Murimirwa cooperative in Gitega region that includes 26 women farmers.
The coffee is hand-picked, depulped using machine, double fermented using wet processing and hand-sorted before sun-drying between 14-21 days on raised beds.
Burundi is a hidden gem in the coffee world due to lack of marketing but consistently produces stellar coffees. The land is very fertile, rich volcanic soil which produces a cup known for having great acidity, a full body and sweet fruity notes.
